PRE-OPEN MARKET COMMENTS MONDAY - The market cares more about the latest tariff news than it does anything else. Each country will go through its own negotiations and trade restrictions will also be addressed. I believe we will see the first "trade deal" in the next two weeks and that will set the framework for the rest. There are almost 100 countries that want to negotiate so this will take months to play out. Most analysts agree that Japan and South Korea will be two of the first to strike an agreement.

Cell phones and computers will be handled separately and this afternoon we might have more clarity on semi conductor chips. These imports are an important part of our economy and they need to be handled with care. Trump's goal is to move that production to the US so there is likely to be a timeline associated with any temporary relief. The fact that there is latitude and room for special considerations has global markets breathing a little easier this morning.

Last week we learned that inflation is starting to ease. The Fed's fear is that tariffs will cause a spike in prices so even though the trend is lower, they are not going to ease. I do believe that the tariffs could cause supply disruptions. Containers are stacking up in China and exports have come to a grinding halt while the tariffs are being determined.

Global economic conditions have been deteriorating for over a year and that is a much greater threat. The tariffs are adding to that uncertainty. China is perilously close to a credit crisis and a huge reduction in exports could push them over the edge. Currencies and bonds have been very volatile and that is a major warning sign. Credit levels across the globe are at extreme levels and risk is elevated.

The Senate will vote on the "Big Beautiful Bill" and that will extend the tax cuts and add new tax cuts. I suspect that the market reaction will be positive. The tax cuts need to be commensurate with spending cuts.

Earnings season will feature banks this week and the reaction so far has been positive. Bad loan right downs are in line with expectations. We will get a much broader view next week when more companies release earnings. I believe that any guidance will be very guarded and that only adds to the current uncertainty.

This is a holiday shortened week and I believe some of the volatility will start to subside.

Swing traders should focus on selling OTM put premium on strong stocks. Distance yourself from the action and let this "dead spot" work in your favor as time decay and an IV crush work in your favor. I am not bullish, but I feel that the odds of a big market drop in the next two weeks is negligible. I believe the market will struggle to get through SPY $550 and that this bounce will ultimately set up a very nice bearish swing trading window. We need option IVs to decline and this waiting period will provide that.

Day traders should go with the flow. I believe the first move will be wimpy. There is no substance behind the gap up this morning. We still don't have any details, only that news is pending. If the first move fills in some of the gap, we want it to be brief and shallow. When the market finds support, take long positions and focus on tech. If the first move is a wimpy grind higher, watch for signs of resistance. The downside will be tested and that is when you can try some shorts.

Support is at the high from Friday ($536.43) and resistance is at the high from Wednesday ($548.62).

Not a pro, but IPOs are incredibly difficult to trade because there are no established points of support and resistance. There are no SMAs. So, how do you know what institutions are doing? How do you know if it has good volume? Furthermore, when there is no option chain, you can't use any risk mitigation strategies or volatility strategies at all.

I am personally more inclined to wait for a bounce here on enter shorts. SPY put in a high volume candle at the gap fill support (yesterday's close). Below that is the 8EMA/AVWAPQ at ~$532.40. The volume is still low. If we got through those levels with some volume, then we can consider some shorts, but I think that's not likely today (tariff catalyst notwithstanding).

nice short. Hasn't been able to rally with the market since last Wednesday's giant pop and has been slowly erasing away those gains. Heavy volume selling today. When market was trying to inch its way higher from 9:50-10:50, stock compressed below VWAP and dropped as soon as the market did. Market is trying to grind back higher again, and now TTD is just compressed at the low with great RW. I also like that it broke below that ~48.50 support level tested numerous times last Thursday/Friday and how it's holding below there rn on this little market move higher. If TTD buyers at that support level were aggressive, this would've been their opportunity. On the next market move lower, would like to see TTD leading the way

Long HIMS I sold 1 contract of the April (25) $23 puts naked for $.50 Cr. That pick was in the video yesterday, but I had to use a different strike price because the stock moved higher. The stock can still mover 20%+ in the next 11 days and I will be fine on the trade. My net cost would be $22.50 on the stock if I am assigned and that is well below the 200-day MA and the recent low for the stock when the market was on its lows last week.

The world has so much debt and this house of cards is getting more and more fragile. Debt starts at the consumer level and it spans all the way up to munis, states and the gov. On the consumer side we don't have to look any farther than the US. Imagine that the majority of people have zero savings and that they can't even survive a couple of weeks without pay. Those are dire conditions. That is why there were helicopter drops of money during Covid. Two years later, conditions are not any better and consumers have even more debt. I live in Illinois and our bond rating is junk.

If I recall correctly one of the other 10% rallies in the market was in 2008. I believe it was in Nov. it was the eve of options expiration (monthly) and they announced a bailout bill and a rate cut. Anyone who was short got absolutely destroyed and it was 100% intentional. They wanted to get maximum effect on that announcement and they wanted everyone to think twice before they shorted. I was fortunate and I did not have any exposure.

I reeled in my short put positions for pennies. I am short the HIMS $23 puts (Apr 25). I am long C OST and I had an offer in to exit for a small gain. Just missed my exit. This was a swing from last week that had not popped so I plan to exit. I also have the GOOG long from today. I have very little exposure and I am just waiting for the next move. The market is close to SPY $550 and that is a resistance level.

This is all heavy volume as far as I am concerned. Using a long term MA will help. In a few more days, using a very short term MA will also work and that is the route I prefer.

The bigger issue is not the volume, but the lack of direction. After such a huge range today on heavy volume you can't give either side an advantage and that is how we use volume. It tells us when one side or the other is stronger and we can't determine that when the market has huge swings.

My current hypothesis is that low volume in areas of support of a trend indicate continuation, but I don't know how to apply low volume patterns outside of trends — such as in swings like we saw today.

If you got trapped in long positions early in the day as I did it was a low probability day. You don't want to add to the mistake so you reduce your activity. If I did not have positions on, I would have taken longs when the low was in and you could see that when I added to my /ES position. I feel there were opportunities on both sides.

The WIKI is excellent, but it is much different from my course The System. Yes you should read it and it is not public. You can skip my eBook. That is a snack and the course is very long. All of the searches look for something different and you should use them all. The manual describes what they look for and when to use them. You will find the manuals in the Dashboard.

If there was one "best" search, I would purge the rest and keep it simple. Different market conditions suit some of the searches better. In fact, you should not just settle for our canned searches. You have Custom Search and you can develop your own fantastic searches.

Exit /ES 5457 for 25 pt loss. I didn't panic out of a position I should have stopped out on. I didn't sense any real danger to the downside ahead of major news so it was not that hard to hold on.

Long HIMS I sold 1 contract of the April (25) $23 puts naked for $.50 Cr. That pick was in the video yesterday, but I had to use a different strike price because the stock moved higher. The stock can still mover 20%+ in the next 11 days and I will be fine on the trade. My net cost would be $22.50 on the stock if I am assigned and that is well below the 200-day MA and the recent low for the stock when the market was on its lows last week.

Long /ES 5482. The market has been able to hold the gap higher with very little retracement into the gap. Sellers have tried to knock it down and I view this compression as a bullish sign. News is pending and after the rally last Wed, shorts are nervous. I do want to see a nice grind up to the hod and thru in the next 4-5 bars. I am giving it some time because there is very little movement
